Scallyroo.com is the first social network geared toward tweens and teens hinging on the merits of education and social responsibility. Our goal is to provide an environment for your child to learn, earn, play, and interact with their peers all within a safe, enriching environment.

In doing so, we plan on having you, The Parent, involved with your child as he/she surfs our site. One of our goals is to bridge the communication gap between you and your child in an online space. In doing so, we think it is vital to have an outlet for your child to keep you updated on events in their life.

Many of the features on Scallyroo allow your child to communicate with you via email. One of those core features is a social calendar that your child can use to organize things in their life. Whether they are social events, school work, after school activities, or play dates, your child can utilize the calendar to manage their life as well as share these events with you and with their friends on Scallyroo. For instance, if your child has an after school practice or plans on going to a friend's house, they can use the calendar to email this information to you with all the relevant information.

Scallyroo also prides itself on being the first Wish List site for young people. We enable your child to create a Wish List for any event. Usually this includes birthdays, holidays, achievements, graduations etc. Essentially your child can build a Wish List, share it with you, and take the proverbial guessing out of gift-giving. This is a very simple process that is achieved through email and requires a few simple clicks of the mouse. Never again will you have to go to a store and search for what your child might want. Scallyroo allows you to purchase exactly what they want and have it delivered to their doorstep.

A truly unique feature of Scallyroo is our proprietary goal realization program that allows your child to set goals and for you to reward them based upon completion of those goals. Think of it as a 'virtual contract' whereby you or your child sets a goal or a task (like getting a certain grade in school or cleaning their room etc.) and you rewarding them with a prize once this goal or task has been accomplished.

Our technology enables the creation of this goal contract and subsequent purchase of reward to be facilitated through the ease of our site. Much like the Wish List, with a few simple clicks the contract can be created and the prize ultimately purchased, making the Scallyroo methodology one of the most effective ways to educate your child on the merits of responsibility.

All members under the age of 13 require parental consent in order to join Scallyroo. If under 13 years of age, your child may request access to the site by providing your email address and we will use it to contact you for your consent. You will be able to activate your child's account from that email or decline it.

Scallyroo.com was created with two objectives in mind. One of our goals is to foster better interaction between you and your child in an online world. In doing so, we think it is vital to have an outlet for your child to keep you updated on events in their life and our application permits this free flow of communication. When your child (under 13) signs up you will be contacted to activate their account via email confirmation. If you confirm their registration, your email address will be used to link you to your child's account and to communicate with you about support, security, privacy,or administrative issues. We feel it necessay to keep you in the information loop every step of the way so you can aid your child in making the right decisions.

Our second goal, is to allow parents the ability to control whom their children interact with in the scope of the website. We allow you, the parent, a login to check on your child's account as well as, make you the contact for anyone looking to add your child to their Friends network.

If you offer consent and activate your child's account, you will be given access to the Parent Dashboard, which will allow you to link to your child’s accounts and monitor their actions on Scallyroo, providing an additional layer of security for you and your child.

The dashboard gives parents the ability to have administrative control over many of the sites features, including but not limited to – approving friend requests; setting goals for their child; viewing, creating and sharing calendar events with their child, in addition to many more valuable tools.

These tools allow Scallyroo's younger members to learn the basics of online networking in a safe, enriching environment, effectively helping them gain independence, be proactive and connect with their friends and family, with you always being in the loop.

User profiles on scallyroo.com are completely privatized, meaning that in order to interact or communicate with any other members on the site, our users need to be connected as friends. Users under the age of 13 are insulated from any and all communication from any users on Scallyroo with whom they are NOT friends. And we give you, the parent, complete control over who your child is friends with by sending the friend requests to your email account. Essentially, you can accept or reject a friend request for your child. They can not. By including an authorized adult in the creation of every kid's scallyroo.com account, we are partnering with you to educate your kids and protect their privacy.
